Press Statement Terbaru Kes Kecurian Oleh Pelancong Taiwan | Pihak berkuasa, tolonglah ambil tindakan TEGAS kepada pelancong yang tak tahu adab ni. Jangan lembik tengkuk sangat. We have spent millions untuk menaikkan nama negara and these people senang senang je merosakkan reputasi kita, memfitnah lagi.

Berbogellah, mencurilah... We don't need them. Ramai lagi pelancong yang berkualiti. Yang bertambah meluatnya bila orang Malaysia terus percaya apa yang mereka sebarkan.

PRESS STATEMENT

BY YBRS. EN. WEE CHOO KEONG

CHAIRMAN OF TOURISM MALAYSIA

Background information: According to a TVBS Taiwan news report, a Taiwanese tourist claimed that he had been accused of stealing at a Victoria Secret outlet in Langkawi Airport.

Since the revelation of the said report in Taiwan, Tourism Malaysia had done an in-depth investigation into the serious allegations and been in close contact with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).

Our investigation proved that the incident did not happen at Langkawi Airport as alleged. In fact, the incident had taken place at the Victoria Secret outlet at the Penang International Airport.

MAHB’s investigation and review of its closed circuit television (CCTV) recordings indicated clearly that a theft of a panty did occur on 16 June 2015 between 3:30 pm and 4:40 pm at the Victoria Secret outlet of the Penang International Airport.

Whilst Tourism Malaysia welcomes quality tourists to Malaysia and will do our best to make their stay as comfortable as possible and extend our warm hospitality, we will not tolerate false allegations or accusations made against Malaysia. We hope that such false allegations will not be repeated in the future.
